Alpine Halo9 / Halo11 installation kit with CAN bus interface to support steering wheel remote control & Multifunctional display in the Volkswagen Golf 7
With the KIT-HALO-G7 installation kit, you can perfectly integrate a 1-DIN Alpine Halo system with a 9-inch (INE-F904D, INE-F904DC, iLX-F905D) or 11-inch screen (iLX-F115D) into a Golf 7 (model year 08/2013 - 02/2017).
The KIT-HALO-G7 has a CAN-to-UART interface with steering wheel remote control support (current data protocol including SIRI and OK Google support). The display in the MFA (multifunction display) in the instrument cluster as well as the visual parking indicator (PDC) and the air conditioning/heating indicator (HVAC) are still supported. You also get an analog signal output via the CAN bus for ignition, parking brake, speed pulse and reversing signal.
The vehicle setting functions are of course retained and all vehicle settings are made via the touchscreen display on the Alpine system. Power Quadlock connectors are used to connect to the original wiring harness for easy plug-and-play installation. This is fully compatible with the original vehicle hands-free microphone and the rear view camera. The kit also includes a USB/AUX socket and an antenna adapter with phantom power.
Note:
- FOR VEHICLES WITH eCALL SYSTEM: The interface is not compatible with the emergency call function. Please note that a CAN bus interface is required to maintain the eCall function when replacing the OEM radio. Please ask your dealer.
- Please note that some vehicle menus may be lost (e.g. traffic sign recognition, etc.). The basic functions or settings will remain but will be controlled differently.
- Not compatible with Golf Sportsvan, e-Golf, GTE and vehicles with Active Info Display (AID). Not for VW Golf VII facelift.
- Not compatible with the original Dynaudio OEM sound system.
Parking sensors display
If your Golf 7 is equipped with original parking sensors, you can continue to use this handy feature even when upgrading to an Alpine Halo system. The parking sensor system is connected to your Alpine screen and displays the helpful distance indicator.
Vehicle information display
The KIT-HALO-G7 connects the Alpine Halo system to the electronic system of the Golf 7. Vehicle settings and information such as lighting settings, tire pressure, driver assistance settings and much more can be viewed and adjusted directly on the Alpine touchscreen.
Steering wheel remote control support
The Alpine system communicates perfectly with your vehicle's multifunction steering wheel. This means that you will not lose this handy feature when you upgrade to the Alpine system. You have control over volume, phone (answer/hang up), track search forward/backward and other functions. And if a smartphone is connected to the system, you can even activate voice control such as "Siri" via the steering wheel.Air conditioning display
The Alpine system gives you visual feedback for the selected temperature of the driver and passenger, climate status, seat heating, selected air vents and much more. This screen is automatically displayed for a few seconds when one of the named settings is changed.
Multifunction display (MFA) support
The KIT-HALO-G7 supports the multifunction display (MFA) in the instrument cluster. When connected to an Alpine head unit, the MFA displays radio station names, song titles and artist information, caller names, navigation turn arrows and other useful information.
Note: Support for navigation turn arrows in the MFA will only be enabled for the INE-F904D / INE-F904DC in early 2024. Please ask your Alpine dealer for further information.
Compatible with many Alpine car radios
The KIT-HALO-G7 is compatible with all Alpine Halo car radios (iLX-F115D, iLX-F905D) and Halo navigation systems (INE-F904D, INE-F904DC) that are "Vehicle Data-Bus Interface Ready".Wireless charging cradle
A very useful accessory for your Golf 7 is the wireless charging cradle KCE-G7QI (optionally available). This small rubber pad fits perfectly in the Golf 7 center console and offers Qi-compatible inductive charging for your wirelessly chargeable mobile phone. The KCE-G7QI works with any Golf 7, whether original radio or aftermarket system.
Your USB and AUX port in the center console
The KIT-HALO-G7 contains a suitable USB/AUX socket that replaces the original socket installed in your Golf 7. This allows you to continue using USB and AUX sources as you did with your original system.
Compatible with original VW rear view camera
The KIT-HALO-G7 allows you to continue using your original VW rear view camera.
Compatible with original VW microphone
The KIT-HALO-G7 is compatible with your original Volkswagen hands-free microphone. This makes installation quicker and easier as no additional microphone needs to be installed.
