There are many complete packages on the market, making it difficult to find your way around. Our tip: Don't just rely on the wattage specification, because the power consumption (e.g., of a speaker) and the power output (e.g., of an amplifier) are often added together for advertising purposes. What matters is the end result, regardless of how many watts are used to achieve it. The result is called sound pressure or thrust, or in other words, bass enjoyment, and is measured in decibels (dB). In the case of the MERCURY MBP bass package, you can look forward to over 141dB of sound pressure and therefore a lot of fun in a medium-sized vehicle (measured with the Term-Lab system at 52 Hz in a VW Golf V). Since the set includes a 4-channel amp, after connecting the subwoofer to channels 3+4, the two 2 x 125-watt front channels are available to drive the front speakers. By the way: 10 dB is generally perceived as double the acoustic volume!
