Die-hard car hi-fi fans know that a good subwoofer is a must in a car, otherwise the whole system is not really enjoyable. However, due to their basket or membrane construction, good subwoofers usually have quite a large installation depth and often cannot be installed in the desired locations. This problem can now be solved with the HiFonics  ZEUS  STREET ZST  flat-design subwoofers. Thanks to their shallow installation depth of just under 8 or 9 cm, these problem solvers can be installed anywhere that conventional subwoofers are simply too deep.

Conventionally designed subwoofers have a deeply molded cone, which keeps the diaphragm in good shape but unfortunately has a significant negative impact on the installation depth. If you want to reduce the installation depth, such diaphragms are out of the question; you have to use flatter versions. However, if these were made from conventional materials such as paper or plastic, flat subwoofers would not sound good. That is why the diaphragms of  the ZEUS  STREET ZST series are made of an extremely hard glass fiber/carbon composite material. This is the only way to ensure that the air is compressed cleanly at high bass excursions and no distortion  occurs. The drives with large magnets and 50 mm voice coils, which allow an Xmax of up to  15 mm (+/-), are also unusual for this class.

The 20 cm Sub ZST8 can show its full potential in a closed enclosure volume of 10-15 liters, while the ZST10 should be used in a volume of 15-25 liters or more. Both subwoofers also perform very well in bass reflex tuning, which requires a little more volume but then delivers even more powerful performance.
