HiFonics ZEUS ZXT (EXTREME)

EXTREME hits the proverbial “nail on the head” here.
In addition to the recently presented Extreme amplifiers with outputs of up to 13,000 watts RMS, the matching EXTREME woofers are now being added to the range. Available in 10, 12, 15 and even 18 inches, all the important sizes are ready to get brutal pressure into the car.
The newly developed REINFORCED-STRUCTURE-ARRAY SURROUND (short: RSA surround), which is a distinguishing feature of the woofer.
It brings with it the necessary stability that becomes necessary at extreme levels. Apart from that, it just looks really cool and gives the series a modern design.
By the way - the HiFonics Extreme logo is even embossed on the bead, which also serves as "copy protection".
From dem From the 12" model upwards, all models have powerful 100 mm voice coils, which are wound extremely long at 58 mm, which means that a large deflection and high resilience is achieved.
(Note: With a 10" a 100 mm coil makes little sense , so there is a 76 mm coil in it).
So that the membrane does not twist, we use a multi-layer construction.
It consists of carbon on the top and glass fiber on the bottom, with cotton fibers in between. Glass fiber below, because carbon would conduct the carbon fibers electrically and we want to avoid the strands producing short circuits.
Carbon is one of the most stable materials in the world, but it is also very expensive.
Even the dust cap is made of carbon, which provides additional support for the membrane. All in all a dream of a subwoofer.

The triple magnet, which is the same size in all woofers and is protected by a blue boat, is particularly striking , whose lavish ferrite rings alone, without the chrome-plated steel pole plates, weigh an impressive 8.5 kg.
The "Reinforced Structure Array" surrounds newly developed for the ZXT woofer and reinforced with vertical elements also give an idea , how much stroke the carbon-reinforced membranes can achieve.
These remain rock solid and are even comparatively light thanks to the 3-fold sandwich structure.
So that the membranes can also optimally exploit the stroke, they are immediately well-designed Nomex spiders as if guided on rails. This ensures that the membranes do not tilt, even under extreme power.
The Zeus subwoofers are also well equipped thermally: the 10-inch woofer is already 76 mm in size, and from the 12-inch model it is even a gigantic 100 mm Voice coils.
With an unbelievable 58 mm winding height, the cones can achieve a linear deflection of +/- 23 mm.
The voice coil is made of special pi-CCAR flat wire, which is aluminum flat wire with copper coating, the weight saves and is also heat-resistant up to 240 degrees. All in all, ingredients that impressively demonstrate the exceptional quality of the woofers.

That could be the overshoot of the new ZEUS EXTREME woofer. If, for example, you place the ZXT18D2 (46 cm subwoofer) in a corresponding bass reflex housing and drive it with a powerful power amplifier, then you literally take your breath away.
The amount of air this series can move in the vehicle is really breathtaking . Even the "smaller" ZXT12D2 beats so much in a bass reflex cabinet that it's hard to believe that only ONE woofer is at work here.

If you are looking for the ultimate level woofers, you cannot avoid the ZEUS EXTREM series.
