If you're looking for a powerful SPL subwoofer without breaking the bank, the new HiFonics ZEUS SPL subwoofer . With a maximum power handling capacity of 1,200 watts and a short-term peak of 1,800 watts, the new ZSPL12D2 is no slouch. On the contrary—it sets standards in its class.

The new 12-inch SPL woofer clearly shows its kinship with the highly acclaimed ZEUS ZXT EXTREME series. It also features the proven surround profile structure, which was specially designed for extremely high excursion. This ensures optimal control of the cone  and prevents unwanted oscillation. In addition, a dust cap made of highly robust carbon composite material provides further stabilization. All these features are particularly important for SPL woofers, as they have to withstand extreme excitations and high air pressures. Conventional plastic dust caps would be completely unsuitable here. Of course, the distinctive blue magnet boots of the ZEUS series have also been retained.

Thanks to a sophisticated cooling system that ventilates the voice coil via the pole plate, the new ZSPL12D2 powerhouse is able to effortlessly handle up to 1,200 watts in the music range. The subwoofer can even handle short-term impulses of up to 1,800 watts with ease. The 64 mm dual voice coil with 2 + 2 ohm impedance, which is above average for this price range, has a remarkable winding length of 38 millimeters and is driven by a powerful 120-ounce dual magnet. With a deflection of +/- 26 mm, the new ZEUS moves a lot of air in front of the diaphragm and "pushes" so hard that it almost takes your breath away.

The new ZEUS SPL sub feels very much at home in a bass reflex enclosure. It starts to come into its own at a volume of around 45 liters. It performs truly perfectly in 55-60 liter enclosures, where it can really unleash its powerful low bass qualities.
