MATCH UP 10DSP incl. MEC Analog In

The premium sound upgrade for factory multi-channel systems

The new UP 10DSP is a real problem solver when it comes to upgrading premium sound systems in today's vehicles. Even though more and more vehicles are equipped with complex multi-channel sound systems ex works, the sound quality does not always meet expectations. In many
cases, it is no longer possible to replace existing components, so that the only option for expansion is an amplifier with a large number of high-level inputs and sophisticated technology. And this is where the new UP 10DSP offers the perfect solution.

Maximum connectivity

For optimal adaptation to existing multi-channel sound systems, the UP 10DSP is equipped with no less than 8 high-level inputs (two with a high load capacity of up to 32 V), an optical digital input, a MATCH extension card slot, 10 amplifier outputs, and a total of 11 processed DSP channels.
In addition, intelligent technologies such as the proprietary ADEP.3 circuit and the 32-bit ACO platform ensure reliable operation.

Virtual channel processing – how signal routing works today

Adapting to modern factory sound systems makes increasingly complex signal routing in the amplifier unavoidable due to a growing number of signal inputs. Especially when multiple input signals are mixed together and then split up again into multi-way systems, conventional routing concepts quickly reach their limits. Audiotec Fischer's new, multi-stage "Virtual Channel Processing" makes it possible, in conjunction with the recognized user-friendly DSP PC-Tool software, to easily map even highly complex system configurations and freely assign proprietary FX sound features such as "RealCenter" or "Dynamic Bass Enhancement." However, thanks to its enormous number of channels in conjunction with the optional MEC ANALOG IN module, the UP 10DSP is also a prime example of applications where 1-to-1 routing (IOR) makes sense.

Speed is everything – thanks to ACO

Such a huge number of channels requires ultra-fast hardware – Audiotec Fischer's proprietary 32-bit ACO platform takes over all control tasks and ensures plenty of speed, especially when communicating data with our DSP PC-Tool software, but also when switching between up to ten possible sound setups at lightning speed. The fantastic sound effects associated with the ACO platform, such as Augmented Bass Processing, StageXpander, and RealCenter, are just as much a part of the UP 10DSP as an 8-channel input EQ with Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of input signals from OE radios.

Powerhouse in a compact format

Despite its concentrated power of 8 x 65 watts at 4 ohms and 2 x 90/160 watts at 4/2 ohms at the sub out, as well as its enormous range of functions, the UP 10DSP comes in an extremely compact design, allowing it to be installed even in confined spaces.

Special features

Class GD technology

Audiotec Fischer's unique Class GD concept combines the advantages of Class G technology with the principle of a Class D amplifier,
resulting in unusually high efficiency that surpasses conventional Class D amplifiers. The Class GD concept demonstrates its advantages at low and medium output levels by gradually varying the internal supply voltage of the power stages depending on the amplitude of the input signal. This drastically reduces the average power loss generated by the amplifier.

ACO – Advanced 32-bit CoProcessor

The MATCH UP 10DSP amplifier uses a particularly powerful, latest-generation 32-bit co-processor for all internal and external control and communication tasks. In contrast to the 8-bit processor used previously, this results in significant speed advantages not only when switching between different sound setups, but also in data communication with our DSP PC-Tool software. Another significant advantage is the co-processor's integrated, native bootloader. This enables software upgrades of all components of the DSP, for example, to adapt the microcontroller-controlled ADEP.3 circuit to future changes in factory radio diagnostic systems or to expand the device with additional interfaces. In addition, thanks to the new flash memory, the ACO offers space for 10 sound setups instead of the usual two.

Intelligent high-level input ADEP.3

Modern factory-installed car radios are becoming increasingly intelligent when it comes to diagnosing connected speakers. The latest generation in particular is equipped with additional monitoring functions, which means that error messages or even malfunctions can occur when an additional amplifier is connected. The new ADEP.3 circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection Generation 3) prevents these problems without unnecessarily straining the radio's speaker outputs at high levels.

Start-stop capability

The power supply in the UP 10DSP amplifier ensures the internal power supply even during short-term drops down to 6 volts. This ensures that the amplifier remains fully functional even when the engine is started. If the on-board voltage drops below 10.5 volts for longer than 5 seconds, the amplifier goes into "Protect Mode" (status LED lights up red continuously) to prevent further discharge of the battery.

Automatic Digital Signal Detection

The UP10DSP allows signal-controlled switching between the analog and digital inputs. As soon as an audio signal is detected at the optical input, the amplifier switches to this input. This function can be activated in the DSPPC  tool software or, alternatively, manual control can be selected via an optionally available remote control.

Power Save Mode

Power Save Mode allows the power consumption of the UP 10DSP (and any additional connected amplifiers) to be drastically reduced if no input signal is present for longer than 60 seconds. As soon as Power Save Mode is active, the internal amplifier stages of the UP 10DSP and the remote output are switched off, significantly reducing power consumption. The amplifier returns to normal operating mode within 2 seconds as soon as a music signal is present at its input. The switch-off delay can be varied or completely deactivated using the DSP PC Tool software.

DSP Features

RealCenter

The "RealCenter" function is a proprietary algorithm from Audiotec Fischer that emphasizes the monaural information of the left and right front channels to create a unique center signal. In contrast to conventional methods, which simply sum the channels, this function also dynamically controls the center signal based on the stereophonic information content of the left and right channels. This means that the center channel does not reproduce any signal if only the left or only the right channel is supplying an audio signal. With conventional algorithms, the center channel would simply be 6 dB quieter in this case. Audiotec Fischer's "RealCenter" thus enables a unique, wide-ranging soundstage – and this is equally optimal for both the driver and front passenger! The disadvantages of a conventional center channel, such as an intrusive, narrow spatial sound reproduction, are finally a thing of the past.

Augmented Bass Processing

Audiotec Fischer's proprietary "Augmented Bass Processing" consists of two revolutionary sound features: "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" and "SubXpander." These have been specially developed to dramatically improve the bass reproduction of subwoofers.
"Dynamic Bass Enhancement" ingeniously combines maximum low bass foundation and high maximum sound pressure – regardless of the type of music being listened to or the sound settings on the radio. Depending on the input signal, "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" amplifies the lower frequency range on the one hand and varies the cutoff frequency of the subsonic filter on the other. The result is a significantly more powerful, deeper bass response at low and medium volumes without the risk of mechanically or electrically overloading the subwoofer at high volumes. It is simply fascinating to see what bass performance is suddenly possible. If you want the low frequency
range to be even deeper and "blacker," you can also activate the "SubXpander." Here, subharmonic tones are added to the fundamental tones in the frequency range between 50 and 100 Hz.

StageXpander

Depending on the arrangement of the speakers in the vehicle, a more or less wide stereo stage can be achieved in the front seats. If a center speaker is also installed, this sometimes further limits the spatial reproduction of the music. This is where Audiotec Fischer's new "StageXpander" comes into its own – a sound feature that seems to remove acoustic boundaries and thus enables a significantly wider stereo base without negatively affecting the precision of voice or instrument localization. The effect can be adjusted to personal taste in four stages.

ClarityXpander

Want more transparency and substance in high-frequency reproduction? Audiotec Fischer now offers just the right tool for this with the "ClarityXpander." When used in
the right amount (and therefore selectable in three levels), it gives the overtones additional brilliance—particularly useful if the original speakers lack the necessary sparkle in the high-frequency range. The extra high-frequency boost is not only available for the two front channels, but can also be adjusted separately for the center channel. And because the latter in particular can tire the ears when combined with music rich in overtones, automatic, dynamic control of the additional overtone content can even be activated here.
