The Quantum Q800A active subwoofer carries the genes of the V1100A, which came out on top as the test winner in the compact class in the 4/2018 issue of Car & Hifi magazine. The Q800A features a slightly smaller 20 cm (8 inch) subwoofer in an enclosure made from a combination of aluminum and plastic. The sophisticated design allowed a long bass reflex channel to be constructed around the subwoofer in the enclosure in order to elicit more deep bass than usual from the woofer. The special subwoofer has been tuned for very high efficiency without neglecting the lowest frequencies. It also features an extra-reinforced glass fiber cone to withstand the high pressures inside the enclosure. A full-fledged Class A/B amplifier with an output of up to 200 watts provides plenty of thrust. Thanks to its small diameter of just 36 cm, the Q800A not only fits in spare wheel wells without a spare wheel, but can also be mounted directly inside a spare wheel (from approx. 15 inches) using the screw supplied.
